Last night, Forum for Alternative Belfast (FAB) & Belfast Film Festival screen this classic with a special introduction by author of ‘Hidden Belfast’, Raymond O’Regan. This Church has an unusual history; in 1786 a group of rich merchants tried to set up a Belfast Slaveship Company and the crucial intervention of parishioner and future United Irishman, Thomas McCabe, ensured it failed miserably
