Founded in 1854 by Thomas Ferguson, an already established linen weaver, this Company has been weaving Irish Linen for over 150 years.

The name “Thomas Ferguson” is synonymous with high quality linen and is widely acknowledged to be the finest linen Jacquard weaver in the world. This reputation for quality has been developed through many generations of dedication and skill and owes much to the Company’s rich heritage.

A visit to Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen offers visitors a rare opportunity to see Irish linen at its various stages of production. These include design, weaving, specialist cutting and hemming and ornamenting.

Visitors can purchase products from the Centre’s fabulous linen collections. This is one of the more unique places to see in Co Down and tours of the factory are available, preferably by appointment – please telephone for times. The tour lasts for about 45 minutes and is not suitable for children under 7 years.
