Braid Arts Centre

Places to See | Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Named after the river that runs through Ballymena – and as tribute to the local flax linen industry – this popular place to see in Co Antrim successfully weaves local history, arts and culture alongside contemporary conference, tourism and civic facilities on a site that has been for centuries the centre of local civic life.

New facilities have made The Braid one of the top theatre venues in Northern Ireland and have brought new audiences and new experiences. With a 425 seater Main Concert Hall including state of the art sound, lighting systems and a full operating flytower, the Arts Centre can accommodate everything from professional touring theatre to large scale music events.

The Mid-Antrim Museum at the Braid offers a range of talks, events and excursions which provide enjoyable ways to get involved with local history. From family activities to topics of special interest – there’s something for everyone. Of course, there’s an unmissable range of changing exhibitions too!

The Arts Centre at The Braid provides opportunities for experiencing and participating in the arts in a modern and accessible way and is open to all arts events and forms, to help illuminate the cultural life of the borough.
